Talk about surrounding yourself with good thoughts this takes the cake, as in a "Cake of soap." Okay that was corny but the point is that it's nice to see so much creativity even in daily items.

#TimeIsNow 5-Steps to Manifestation

Ideas often snuggle up in our mind and stay there but don't you feel the urge to make something happen? Here's five (5) simple steps that you can implement and share. I'm using the images from an art project because I was tired of staring at a blank wall. So I busted out the art supplies and went buck.

1. Daydream about the possibilities.

2. Focus on a few tangible things you can do to make it happen. (Maybe write out all your thoughts and circle two task that you can start with.)

3. When you're done with each, mark it off then move on to the next two. 

4. Be consistent. In other words if you made time on Tuesday then block off the same hour(s) and schedule your task to follow that pattern.

5. Tweak if you need to or ask for help along the way. Maintain your schedule until your idea is manifested. (Grand ideas take time so start small and stay positive.)

If no one celebrates you, then CELEBRATE yourself!

We wait for other's to complement us because that's the polite thing to do but what if no one say's anything good about you? Then celebrate yourself! Get up and go somewhere that will boost your creative being. Maybe a cafe, museum, seaside, hike, window shop, concert, book store, craft store or garden. 

My first years of marriage and motherhood weren't as celebrated as I would have imagined. (Young couples trying to make ends meet are often too busy pinching pennies.) One year I decided to celebrate Mothers Day my way. Zero expectations on my husband and an entire day that I can plan and do what ever I wanted... alone.

As it turned out I began to invite other women to hangout and every year there was something different to do. Then one year I came home to an elaborate dinner and eventually these grew into gift cards, museum memberships, roses and trips planned by my husband and children.

I guess they saw me celebrating and wanted to join the party. This year they took me to one of my favorite Seattle spots, Chihuly Garden and Glass. I was impressed at how they engaged with all of the art pieces, even my two year old. The bottom line is that you teach people how to treat you. PEACE be the Journey.

Up-Cycle Composition Book & Tote

My friend, Kiala, challenged me to decorate a plain 'ol composition book and a canvas tote. This is the 1-week procrastination that took about 15 minutes to complete. (How funny.)

First I laid down some white butcher paper to protect my carpet :) Then placed my tote and started spraying.

I used alcohol inks in a spray bottle and Dylusion Ink Spray with stencil, which are all from Ranger Ink. (The green color is the alcohol ink.)

While the tote was drying I ripped up the colored butcher paper and decoupage my composition book. It didn't take long to complete.

I decided to paint my version of spring using acrylics while my new journal dried. Done :-)

Stones ROCK! #CreativeBoost

My husband's cousin, Kacey Wacey, gave us some beautifully decorated stones which inspired a bunch of rock art. My designs are nothing compared to their Maori art and I especially like the simplicity of a koru. Luckily if you mess up, no problem. Just cover it with glitter.

3 Things Successful Creatives Do

I was chatting with a cohort, Kathy J, about a few creative ideas and during our discussion I was inspired to doodle, paint & reflect. The reflection was how to achieve success as a creative entreprenuer. Then I had a meet-up with two other cohorts, Grace Howes & Kiala Givehand and reflected once again on the idea of success. This led me to uncover three basic elements.

1. Self Help - in other words they don't have to be told what to do, they just do it. What sets them apart is that I've never heard an excuse as to why they didn't reach a goal. 

2. Accountability - they allow, trusted cohorts, the freedom to tell them the truth. From web design to product development. 

3. Success - it's the result of having a plan, creating trusted accountability and living your truth daily.

Turn Yesterday's Smudge into Today's Art

I took the left over paint from an earlier project and added watercolors to the dried acrylics. It looks like a fish dressed in red wearing a top hat and dancing disco. Hope you make time to smudge :) PEACE be the Journey.
