2. The Simple Things is filled with images that say so much from food to features its all here. I also liked the typography :)$9+

3. Private Island is everything your traveling mind needs to wonder into the realm of "possibilities." It features islands for sale or rent and this is the perfect magazine for your dream board. $14+

The perfect boost for your summer work flow, I created this recipe for a #TCV recording.

I've never heard of Red Rubin Basil but it's delicious and fragrant. Just put in a few berries and basil leaves... it's that simple.

No sweetener needed for this drink, I think that I'll call it... "Berry Basil Boost." PEACE be the Journey

Help Kid-prenuers Make Summer CA$H

Remember the lemonade stands of the past? Well one summer my children needed to raise money for their Polynesian performing arts team. They suggested setting up a stand in front of our house. I was like, "ABSOLUTELY NOT." The neighborhood's great but...

It's all about location, location, location! My local farmers market is the perfect venue because people come ready to shop. Setting up a space is as simple as calling in and meeting all their requirements.

We have a choice (NZ slang for best) spot between the two main attractions at the market. I just hope they can concentrate on greeting potential customers. This actually opens up some new options for blogging as I intent to share the ups & downs they face.

This became the subject of the recent #BeautyBabiesBigBoyz and I've included a few farmers market links for the Pacific Northwest and the national farmers market association. The links are on the YouTube video.

And... thanks to my friend and biz buddy, Kiala Givehand, I've started the journey with this new book. More to come :)

PS: I'm teaching a DIY natural beauty class and the link is below. Eventually I HOPE to vlog about it. The class is called "Eat It or Wear It."

#GoBuck - Give your creativity permission to thrive.

Have you ever completed a project to find out that something was missing?

My children enjoy putting puzzles together and after opening the box they went to work. Then they noticed the missing piece and couldn't find it anywhere. Further more they were daunted by the fact that they couldn't create a solution. What did they do?

They laughed about it, jumped around and as it happened music was playing so they danced.  (Laughed some more.) In my opinion that describes the hashtag #GoBuck. It's an attitude of, "Why worry about what I can't change." It's also the freedom to say "I'm going to dance and I don't care who's watching." That is the perfect combination of #GoBuck which is having a positive attitude and freedom.

This is such a fun topic that we had to hash-it-out during The Creative View. (A weekly vlog I do with a few friends.) This topic had me rolling :)

#IntuitionRocks with The Creative View

Since March 3, 2015 I've been hashing trending thoughts with a few creatives on Google+ hangouts. Each time it get's better and the conversations are full of "aha" moments. This particular session was about intuition and how to recognize it in your life.

Grace's signature "Hmmm" look that usually get's me thinking. She has such deep insight.

TCV isn't complete without Kiala's water. Every session she shares insight about it's importance in our lives. <3

Of course I have some sort of tea but my favorite thing to share is a different mug during our meet-ups.

I try to add an art journal page after our sessions. This one is from a previous burst of inspiration. PEACE be the Journey.

Up-Cycle Composition Book & Tote

My friend, Kiala, challenged me to decorate a plain 'ol composition book and a canvas tote. This is the 1-week procrastination that took about 15 minutes to complete. (How funny.)

First I laid down some white butcher paper to protect my carpet :) Then placed my tote and started spraying.

I used alcohol inks in a spray bottle and Dylusion Ink Spray with stencil, which are all from Ranger Ink. (The green color is the alcohol ink.)

While the tote was drying I ripped up the colored butcher paper and decoupage my composition book. It didn't take long to complete.

I decided to paint my version of spring using acrylics while my new journal dried. Done :-)

Here's the vlog where she challenged me and our friend Grace.

#iLoveTBC , Day 17 - How to become a diamond and not a lump of coal.

We are all aware of a diamonds value but do you know how they're created? It's formed through intense pressure and unbelievable conditions. The extreme compression, tension and stress on a lump of coal creates one of life's most treasured gems.

Does the life of a diamond sound familiar? How do we harness this lesson?

  1. Breathe - Be conscious of your body during stressful situations and be kind to yourself.
  2. Accept - You might not like what's going on but decide what is in your control and what isn't. Focus on what you can do and release the rest.
  3. Build - Your internal structure with positive things. Read and listen to encouraging words and music.
  4. Expand - Give yourself room to grow and change. Learn or try new things and increase your value.
Below is an exercise to get you to try something new and tap into your creative side.

Each day you're making good decisions towards living vibrant and creative. They may feel like little steps but it will all add up in the end. PEACE be the Journey

#iLoveTBC, Day 6 - Cut and Paste

Every sunset and sunrise brings you closer to your goal. Before you know it all of those little steps will add up to something greater. And this journey will be written, glued and maybe glittered within your journal.

Today's prompt is to gather images of places that you would like to live within. Where do you see yourself living? Find and cut pictures that make you feel "at home" images that are an extension of you.

I will forever be a fan of Maya Angelou and I hope you enjoy this quote. PEACE be the Journey.
