How to keep your imagination ignited!

How to keep your imagination ignited in 5-Steps...

Step 1- Write or doodle a list of all the things that make you happy.

Step 2- Circle the ones that you do on a regular basis with one color.

Step 3- Use a different color and circle the ones that you never get to do.

Step 4- Take a new sheet of paper and rewrite the "never" list.

Step 5- Schedule an hour or more per week to do one item from the "never" list. (Choose simpler projects first.)

❤️💛💚💙💜 When you choose to honor the things that bring you joy then you will ignite the parts of your brain that make you a genius. #VibrantCreative

If no one celebrates you, then CELEBRATE yourself!

We wait for other's to complement us because that's the polite thing to do but what if no one say's anything good about you? Then celebrate yourself! Get up and go somewhere that will boost your creative being. Maybe a cafe, museum, seaside, hike, window shop, concert, book store, craft store or garden.

My first years of marriage and motherhood weren't as celebrated as I would have imagined. (Young couples trying to make ends meet are often too busy pinching pennies.) One year I decided to celebrate Mothers Day my way. Zero expectations on my husband and an entire day that I can plan and do what ever I wanted... alone.

As it turned out I began to invite other women to hangout and every year there was something different to do. Then one year I came home to an elaborate dinner and eventually these grew into gift cards, museum memberships, roses and trips planned by my husband and children.

I guess they saw me celebrating and wanted to join the party. This year they took me to one of my favorite Seattle spots, Chihuly Garden and Glass. I was impressed at how they engaged with all of the art pieces, even my two year old. The bottom line is that you teach people how to treat you. PEACE be the Journey.

#iLoveTBC , Day 21 - Make "ME" time a priority.

Majority of the women I meet are amazing givers and completely self-less. From the moment they wake up their day is filled with things they do for others.

I have the privilege of working at an elder's center which gives me the chance to gain perspective. I've learned a lot about our concept of time through the eyes of an elder.

  1. Time is something that is spent and where you invest it will effect your future.
  2. Scheduling time to "self-care" is important because you're given one body.
  3. "Me" time should also address emotional care. Do you invest into your joy? Do you allow yourself time to grieve? How do you pull yourself out of a slump?

I suggest you grab a cup of something soothing before you dive into this project. Always be mindful of how you're spending your time and try to schedule regular "Me" time events.

PS: If you've been able to jump into these prompts on a consistent basis then congratulations! The self-discovery sessions are meant to help us measure our time. How much time do we get to spend alone with our creative genius? If you haven't been able to do a daily prompt then...

  • Recognize the pattern.
  • Schedule "Me" time.
  • Jump into the current journal entree.
  • No worries about skipping a few.
  • Only go back to pass prompts if you like.

What's in my bag?!✨

We [Sista & Möi] especially enjoy "Day Trips," because they're mini adventures within surrounding communities. The best part is that it plays an important role in staying connected & creative. [And we all know how important creativity is.]

If you want an eclectic and color-filled experience try Wallingford in Seattle. It has an array of boutiques that I have yet to explore plus so much scope for the imagination. It began it's life as an education center and you can see the historic preservation throughout the building.

On this particular day we decided to check out Pharmaca which was a great surprise. They sell homeopathic, natural care products and so much more. We also noticed that a lot of the products were priced better then competitive stores in our neighborhood of Tacoma. Was it worth the drive? Ah, YES because this was only one of several interesting stores.

It's my sister's b-day in a few days and I decided to spoil her with some self care Andalou goodies. She's promised to blog or vlog about her experience. So I guess we'll all have to wait... unless you're tried it before :)

They do have a few samples at the store of various products and helpful staff. Make it a day-trip and tell them about this awesome blog you read. Chances are that they probably won't know us but that's not a biggie. Enjoy the visit. PEACE be the Journey.

Seattle Super Bowl XLIX

I was in West Seattle hanging out with a bunch of Creatives. [I'll probably introduce them to you in the next blog.] We planned this meet-up in 2014 way before the playoffs and despite the distraction we shared, ate & shared. [Hawks vs Packers]

Lights for good luck and a wild explosion once they won! Fireworks were being lit, cars honking, people running up & down the street screaming. [FYI: fireworks are banned in Seattle, Lol.]

How's that for a meet-up & celebration? Awesome right. We had delicious food prepared by Nancy who's a local artist, in turquoise. Next to her is Kathy J, Paish & Christine who are all entreprenuers in the PNW. The best part is that they're super fun to hangout with. [I'll link their sites later.]

Go HAWKS!!! They sealed the deal after overtime! Proud to be here! See you on Facebook
